A FLOOD relief concert will raise money for flood victims in Victoria and Sri Lanka.
The CCC Foundation will present the Flood of Hands concert this Sunday, with proceeds donated equally between relief collections for the two disasters.
Foundation chairman Jetha Devapura said Australian and Sri Lanka have a lot in common, including friendly people and a positive attitude.
“One thing that is currently common to both countries is the devastating floods that has taken lives, livelihoods and affected vast areas of beautiful landscape,” Mr Devapura said.
“We are proud people and it’s now time once again to stand together and help each other through the devastating floods that have affected our state, Victoria, and the country we share a common bond with, Sri Lanka.”
CCC Foundation will present bands, DJs and performers as well as appearances by players from Melbourne Tigers and players from the Victorian Bushrangers cricket team.
Visitors can also place their handprint on the Longest Banner in Australia for a gold coin donation.
Flood of Hands will be held on Sunday 27 March at Sandown Racecourse, Springvale.
It will run from noon to 8pm, with presold tickets costing $10 and tickets available at the door for $15.
Mr Devapura said money raised will be donated evenly between the Red Cross in Victoria and CCC Foundation in Sri Lanka.
