School rings in new century

By Nicole Williams
NOBLE Park Primary School celebrated its centenary this week with a trip down memory lane.
Students were called to class by the ringing of an old-fashioned bell and were treated to a serve of milk each day.
The school captains dressed in clothing from the early 1900s for the 100th birthday assembly on Monday.
Noble Park Primary School teacher and centenary coordinator Marg Mielnik said the celebrations and assembly were fantastic.“We had a big cake and sang Happy Birthday,” Ms Mielnik said.
The Greater Dandenong mayor Roz Blades made a speech and many parents attended to celebrate with the school.
“It was fantastic that they could come and share in our celebration,” Ms Mielnik said. “All the children, parents and staff got some cake to eat.”
On Saturday 7 May the school will hold a festival so the wider community can also celebrate the milestone.
