FIREFIGHTERS were called to two car fires last Wednesday – for the same car.
A green Holden Commodore had a minor fire in the engine about 9.10am on Wednesday 11 May in Mulgrave and the CFA was called.
The fire was quickly extinguished and the car was left with the owner.
Less than an hour and a half later, the Dandenong CFA responded to a call for a car fire in Browns Road, Noble Park, and found the same car well alight.
Firefighters said the owner had managed to get the car running and tried to drive home.
He had driven the car two kilometres before it caught alight again, this time causing significant damage.
