CHRISTMAS came a little early for Chalcot Lodge Primary School after it won $5000 from CUA.
The Endeavour Hills school beat eleven other schools to win the money, after its project proposal received the most community votes in the CUA Community Care program.
The school will now have the funding to enable students to experiment with and learn about cuisines from around the world highlighting the cultural diversity of Australia.
CUA Regional Manager Keith Bouchier said Chalcot Lodge was the most passionate and prepared school to submit a proposal.
“I know the school, parents and community really got behind them,” he said.
“Looking at the students, what struck me was how diverse the kids were in the school and how passionate they are about their kitchens.”
Mr Bouchier also said CUA wanted to stay in contact with the school, to see how it developed the cuisine program. For more information about the CUA Community Care program visit www.cua.com/communitycare
