THE City of Greater Dandenong last week hosted a morning tea for the city’s faith leaders, who run community tours to places of worship as part of the Interfaith Network.
The network was formed in 1989 to promote respect and tolerance of the beliefs, cultures and traditions of all faiths.
Eloisa Costoso, for the City of Greater Dandenong, said members of the network share a common commitment to live together in peace and goodwill.
“The morning tea brought together faith leaders from Baha’i, Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Sikh, Jewish and Buddhist faith communities in a celebration of the cultural and religious harmony we experience in Greater Dandenong,” Ms Costoso said.
“It was also an opportunity to acknowledge the important work the Interfaith Network carries out in the city, and council’s support of the network.”
The morning tea was held in the Springvale council offices.
