THE community volunteers of the Mornington Peninsula Astronomical Society will conduct their public night sky telescope viewing evenings at 8pm on Friday 3 February and 3 March.
Saturn has returned to evening skies, and the red planet mars is still prominently on show.
Evenings will feature a multimedia slide show, interactive talk, hands-on meteorites, and viewings with powerful telescopes at The Briars Historic Park visitors centre, Nepean Hwy, Mount Martha – Melway reference 145 F12.
Prices are $8 for adults and $4 for children or $20 for a family of any size.
Bookings are essential to ensure sufficient telescopes are present.

TRIVIA buffs are urged to gather a group of up to 10 friends and family members to partake in the Dandenong and Districts Little Athletics Club Trivia and Auction Night.
The night will be held at 7.30pm on 18 February at the St James Church Hall, Langhorne Street, Dandenong.
BYO nibbles and drinks, but tea and coffee will be supplied.
Entry fee is $10 per person or $80 per table if fully booked before 11 February).
THE NEXT Dingley Village Craft Market will be held on 5 February at the grounds of the Dingley Village Neighbourhood Centre, 31B Marcus Road, Dingley Village.
The market has been operating since 1978 and is a major fundraising activity of the neighbourhood centre.
DANDENONG Philatelic Society is calling for new members who wish to broaden their postage stamp collection and knowledge base.
The club exchanges sheets and its auctions offer the chance to buy and sell philatelic items, and to profit from the sale of stamps.
The group meets in Dandenong Library, Stuart Street, Dandenong, on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm.
