Girl, 10, drowns

A 10-YEAR-OLD Dandenong girl drowned at Frankston pier last Saturday.
Victoria Police said the girl was found floating face down in water near Frankston pier about 7.50pm on Saturday.
Ambulance officers were called to the scene and worked on the girl trying to revive her.
The police helicopter ambulance was called in to transport the girl to hospital, but she died a short time later.
The girl’s body was taken to the Frankston Hospital.
Police are still investigating the drowning and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
They have not revealed the girl’s name.
