SPRINGVALE Police have charged a 22-year-old Berwick man with stalking a Keysborough woman.
Sergeant Geoff Straughen said police received a report that a man attended his ex-girlfriend’s house at 1am on 4 March and gained entry through a roof cavity and manhole. He was confronted by the home owner and fled through the back door.
A man was later found at a nearby school and spoken to by police.
Police charged a man with stalking, wilful damage and unlawfully entering premises.
The man was bailed to appear before the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 13 March.
POLICE assertiveness helped locate two expensive pieces of satellite-related equipment after they were stolen from a motorist in Springvale last month.
Springvale police Sergeant Geoff Straughen said a 46-year-old man parked his car about 2.30pm on 28 February in the IGA Supermarket carpark near St James Avenue, Springvale, and left two satellite decoders worth $250 each in the vehicle.
The man returned to his car about 3pm and found the two decoders had been stolen.
Later, a police constable noticed a man carrying two satellite decoders and decided to speak to him.
Sgt Straughen said the man dropped the decoders and fled.
The policeman recovered the decoders and it was later discovered that they were stolen.
The goods were returned to the owner.
Police have charged a 26-year-old Mulgrave man with theft from a motor car.
A 16-YEAR-OLD Springvale South youth will appear before Dandenong Children’s Court to face charges relating to burglary.
It follows an investigation by Springvale Police into the theft of a whippersnipper from a property adjoining Springvale South Primary School on 25 February about 1.30am.
Police received a report from the home owner that a person had jumped the fence dividing the school grounds and his property and stolen a whippersnipper.
Sergeant Geoff Straughen said police arrived soon after the incident, but the suspect had fled. He said the resident then spotted two cyclists and alerted the police.
