House, bus baseball attack

POLICEclaim A Dandenong North man smashed the windows of his own home with a baseball bat before doing the same to a passing bus full with passengers.
Police are calling for witnesses who might have seen a man wielding a bat rampaging through Dandenong North about 2.30pm on Wednesday, 25 October.
Detective Senior Constable Corey de Silva said a man smashed the windows in his home with a baseball bat before running outside and hitting the windows of a passing bus.
The blows showered glass over the bus’ occupants.
Det Sen Const de Silva said the man had “chased a few people with the baseball bat and stopped cars on the road”, including a 45-year-old woman, in the process.
He said police wanted to speak with anyone driving at the time who might have encountered the man.
Police arrested a 22-year-old Dandenong North man and charged him aggravated burglary and armed robbery.
He appeared before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday and his case has been adjourned to 17 January.
