DINGLEY coach and prolific goal-kicker Adam Quinn nose-dived back to reality against HAMPTON on the weekend, booting a meagre four goals. The star forward was under pressure after kicking 13 goals and seven points the previous weekend, but still boasts a season total of 41 goals after four games. Maybe ‘Quinny’ is doing his best to keep the ‘premiership favourite’ tag away from Souter Oval?

THE SPRINGVALE DISTRICTS are holding a Blokes’ Night next Thursday, 31 May, but it’s probably not what you think it is! Far from grassroots traditions of a regular blokes’ night, the Demons’ version features only a smorgasbord of snags, soft drink and senior training. Supporters are being urged to come down, and stay and have a chat with the playing group after the session.

STILL on Springvale, the Demons will follow Thursday’s Blokes Night with Ladies Day on Saturday, when Springvale hosts MOORABBIN at Springvale Reserve. Not too sure what the Ladies Day entails, but at least Springvale can now declare a zero tolerance approach to sexual discrimination. Contact the club for more details.

BUSTLING DOVETON Eagles full-forward Travis Gardner has finally made it back out on the field after battling through a tough year of injuries. Gardner endured a knee reconstruction last year and then suffered a calf injury in a practice game this year. It’s great to see Gardner once again haunting the Division Three fullbacks, and he kicked two goals in Doveton’s win over DANDENONG on the weekend.
