Wayward car traps pair in unit

TWO Noble Park residents were left trapped in their unit after a car ploughed into brickwork and bent the front door in a way it could not be opened.
Dandenong Country Fire Authority crews were called out to the job at 9.15pm on Saturday at a unit along Princes Highway, Noble Park, under the belief the people were trapped in the car.
But to their amazement, it was the residents who were trapped.
“When crews arrived on-scene they found two people still trapped in their flat after a car had reversed through a paling fence and into their doorway,” Dandenong CFA volunteer and photographer Keith Pakenham said.
“The occupants of the flat could not open their front door as the wall and frameway were bent, pinning the door closed.”
Police were called to the scene because the vehicle drove away, and paramedics attended, but no one was hurt.
