THE Fijian Islamic and Cultural Society of Victoria now has an official home in Dandenong.
The City of Greater Dandenong approved the society’s application to use a George Street site as a restricted place of assembly.
The facility is to be used for cultural and religious education.
It is to be used each Sunday morning (except school holidays) for children’s education, and two Saturdays a month from 6.30pm to 10.30pm for youth education and assembly.
According to a council report, the average attendance at the meetings will be 40 people.
The application was approved unopposed at Monday’s council meeting.
