YEAR 10 students at Beaconsfield’s St Francis Xavier College were given a valuable insight into a multitude of jobs as part of a career day on Monday.
As they enter their pivotal year, the school organised for its Year 10 students at the Beaconsfield campus to spend a day learning more about career opportunities and how to pursue them.
After a welcome from deputy principal Mark Brockhus, students then heard about tertiary education opportunities from school careers adviser Phil Apperley.
Then, following a video presentation, the students broke into various groups and attended back-to-back seminars hosted by former students who had now made their mark in respective industries.
Star News Group’s own Shaun Inguanzo, a former student, was present to speak about journalism.
After the seminars, students moved to the main hall to learn about taxation and obtaining a tax file number.
