A DANDENONG North man has died after suffering burns in an explosion in his garage last weekend.
The man was angle-grinding an empty 44-gallon drum in his Barron Court garage about 10am on Saturday.
Police said it appeared sparks had caused an explosion and the garage was engulfed in flames.
The man’s wife and son ran to his aid and called 000. The man was taken to The Alfred hospital with life-threatening burns, but he died later.
The fire gutted the garage and the arson squad and an arson chemist are assisting local police with their investigations.
