IT’S not too late to have your say on how the revitalised Noble Park Train Station underpass should look.
Two concept designs for the $25,000 Department of Infrastructure-funded project, done in partnership with Connex, have been produced by internationally renowned artist Anu Patel.
This week the City of Greater Dandenong Council encouraged residents to still have their voices heard and nominate one of two options as the preferred underpass.
Voting closes on 8 February and entry forms are available from the Paddy O’Donoghue Centre and Noble Park Railway Station.
Cultural planning officer Grissel Walmaggia said Anu Patel had worked extensively on train station art projects throughout England.
“The aim of the artistic treatment is to create an energetic space that is filled with reflective light for improved visibility, safety and cleanliness when entering the underpass,” Ms Walmaggia said.
“Colour will play an important role in enhancing visibility. Light will be amplified through the use of reflective elements and the work will incorporate a colour-designed paint application and stainless steel panels to improve sight lines at the underpass entrance.”
Meanwhile, an exhibition of Anu’s vibrant prints is on display at the Paddy O’Donoghue Centre until 25 February.
