Engineering company wins chamber award

A DANDENONG South metal engineering company has taken top honours at the Greater Dandenong Chamber of Commerce Regional Business Awards.
The awards, held on Wednesday night at the Drum Theatre and Town Hall complex, have been deemed a success by the chamber’s president, David Carlson, who said more than 300 people attended.
The Premier Regional Business Award – the night’s top honour – went to Hilton Manufacturing which has been a metal forming and fabrication specialist supplier to general industry since 1976.
The company employs in excess of 70 people and its clientele over the years has included the Department of Defence, Mercedes Benz, Ford, Hino Japan and Iveco.
Mr Carlson said the company deserved the award.
“Hilton Manufacturing is a worthy winner, a successful business and a large contributor to employment in Dandenong,” he said.
Mr Carlson noted that the eight categories dedicated to other winners were also a criteria used to judge the Premier award.
The evening was also a first for the Chamber of Commerce – a stand-up meal of finger foods and the sit-down theatre experience as opposed to the traditional restaurant-type meal.
Other winners include: Environment – INC Corporation; Export – GFC Kilns International; Innovation – AL-KO International; Service Excellence -Accredited Distributors; Employment – Hafele Australia; Retail – Roma Deli Continental Food Store; Small Business – Pacific Components; Youth Enterprise – David Fitzpatrick (nominee).
