Celebrating over a cuppa

By Shaun Inguanzo
CAFÉ Salvo in Noble Park was more than just a humble beverage store this week – it became a meeting place for residents to hear about the tales of two successful young women.
The café in Buckley Street hosted the city’s International Women’s Day celebrations, organised by the City of Greater Dandenong’s Y Space program.
Y Space, a council-funded youth program, meets regularly at the café.
On Tuesday it’s members welcomed Noble Park Ward councillor Pinar Yesil and medical student Jasmina Kervic as guest speakers to discuss their journeys from arriving in Australia as emigrants to becoming successful women with prosperous futures in the making.
It was also an opportunity for residents and young people to socialise over a coffee or hot chocolate.
