‘Green thumb’ thief

PLANT theft continues to be a problem in the Springvale area.
Springvale South resident Janice Hodge said one of her neighbours lost hundreds of dollars worth of plants in two separate raids in one night.
“He spends a lot of time and money on his garden, and it looked beautiful, but he said he’s not going to do it any more,” Mrs Hodge said.
“He left to go to Bunnings and was only gone for a little while. He came back and the plants were gone. There were just holes in his garden.
“Later that night a thief stole one of his big bushes.
“I find it amazing. Somebody’s either making a nice garden for themselves out of other people’s plants, or they are selling them at the markets.”
Mrs Hodge’s reports follow several other complaints in recent weeks.
