PLANS for an ambulance depot in Noble Park have been sent back to the drawing board by Greater Dandenong City councillors.
Councillors supported a recommendation by planning officers to reject an application from the Metropolitan Ambulance Service (MAS) for a permit to build an ambulance depot on the corner of Himbeck Court and the Princes Highway.
Last week Star revealed that residents of Himbeck Court were up in arms over the plans, which stated that ambulances would be entering and exiting the depot via Himbeck Court, not the Princes Highway.
At Monday night’s council meeting, councillors unanimously supported the recommendation to reject the application, with Keysborough Ward councillor Roz Blades asking that the council’s business wing contact the MAS to discuss an alternative site for the depot.
