It was a fierce competition during heat four of the Battle of the Bands competition.The Battle of the Bands competition will rock Dandenong’s The Castle on Saturday, 18 November. The Muso Network’s Iolanda Di Biase was at the final heat on 21 October to report for Star on yet another fine selection of acts vying to compete for the title of Best Band.
SATURDAY, 21 October saw heat four of the Battle the Bands competition.
Of seven great local bands, only two were to go through the grand final extravaganza.
The two winners were the Exit City and local Nazareth boys Foucault.
Jason Hatcher from Hatchmannerism, CD artwork sponsor and judge at the event, said he couldn’t believe the level of local talent.
“It was a stiff competition and made the job for the judges very hard,” he said.
The heats have been running for four months and the eight bands that have made it through are now locked in for the grand final to be held on 18 November.
Those bands will be Amune System, Disturbing Silence, Mileena, Overdriver, Slayain, Elsewhere, Foucault and the Exit City.
They will all be in the running to win recording time at Lorricco Studios, CD artwork, a CD launch at Radical Records, a write-up in Buzz magazine, rehearsal time at Pony Music and vouchers from Cranbourne Music.
Other prizes include lessons from Vox Singing School, and the chance to play in front of a representative from Mushroom Records.
