Building a healthy relationship takes a lot of help and help is at hand for you to make it work.Building a healthy relationship takes a lot of help and help is at hand for you to make it work.

BUILDING a relationship that lasts often takes extra work and even a little help.
The private counselling practice of Joan Spencer and Associates offers premarriage and remarriage sessions for couples planning their wedding.
Counselling sessions are also offered for couples already married and in relationships as well as individuals.
As well as helping to solve problems beyond the individual’s or couple’s personal resources, counselling and mediation sessions are offered for separating and divorced couples including conflict resolution and moving on, grief, infertility and sexual counselling.
Principal counsellor, Joan Spencer, as well as having 30 years of counselling experience, has an arts degree majoring in psychology and a postgraduate degree in social work from Melbourne University.
“We can show people how helpful marriage and relationship courses can be,” she said.
Associate Dr Bill Spencer has a Bachelor of Theology degree from Melbourne University and a doctoral degree in ministry, (advanced pastoral studies) from San Francisco.
Both Bill and Joan have specialised in premarital courses since 1975. Other tertiary qualified counsellors are also on the team.
“Counselling offers people choices,” said Joan.
“Often counselling is essential to cope with a crisis or problem. The counsellor is nonjudgemental and helps people find direction and make choices in their lives.”
Joan Spencer and Associates has offices on the Princes Highway at Hallam and at 6 Eleanor Court, Pakenham.
Phone for a consultation or course schedule on 9796 5965.
