POLICE are interviewing the driver of a car that slammed into a tree in Keysborough on the weekend.
Springvale Country Fire Authority (CFA) was called to Henderson Road at 11.15pm on Saturday to find a Mitsubishi Outlander had hit a tree, flipped over and landed back on its wheels.
Fire officers said the severity of the impact tore the front passenger wheel and suspension from the Outlander before it flipped.
The male driver was not trapped, and escaped serious injury.
Residents on Henderson Road helped to disconnect the car’s battery prior to fire officers arriving.
Police are interviewing the driver in relation to the cause of the collision.
