THE community of St Elizabeth’s Primary School in Dandenong North said farewell to the school’s principal, Debra Punton, on Friday.
Ms Punton took over the reins of St Elizabeth’s in January 2000, and said she would cherish forever her six years at the school.
“I’ve had a ball,” she said.
“It’s a wonderful school community. It is represented by 52 different nationalities and I’ve loved working within such a culturally diverse community.
“I’ve also worked with a wonderfully supportive staff and Parish community.
“Everyone has been very supportive of my leadership.
“It’s six years that I will cherish forever.”
Ms Punton has been appointed assistant director of school services with the Catholic Education Office.
Margaret Carlei and Kate Robinson are acting coprincipals until a new principal is appointed in 2006.
