THE Dandenong Show is back for another year with an action-packed weekend of rides, entertainment, show bags and a celebration of Dandenong’s agricultural history.
The 135th Annual Dandenong Show, organised by the Dandenong Agricultural and Pastoral Society, will run across the weekend of 11 and 12 November at Greaves Reserve, Dandenong.
This year’s highlights will include a free circus entertainment from Robinson’s Family Circus and Circus Maximus.
There will be a free children’s area including an animal nursery, puppet theatre, show mainstay Col Sellings and his three ducks, and miniature-train rides sponsored by the Greater Dandenong Chamber of Commerce.
This year’s show will also feature a display by the Victorian Athletics League on the Saturday with four professional races being run.
Dandenong Show favourites such as dog flyball, sheep shearing demonstrations, and the traditional animal competitions including cattle, goat, sheep, guinea pig, mice and rats will return.
The show will also feature its regular line-up of arts and crafts competitions.
Entries into either the animal or arts and crafts competitions close on 29 October.
