DANDENONG’S Russian community officially welcomed the visiting Russian FINA World Championships swim team to the city last week.
The event was organised by and held at Dandenong’s Ramada Encore Hotel on Wednesday 14 March .
The Russian Welfare Society was represented by Janene Blanchfield Brown, while translation for the team was provided by Arkady Morozow from the locally-based Russian Imperial Union Order.
City of Greater Dandenong mayor Youhorn Chea also welcomed the team on behalf of the council and residents, and presented them with lapel pins bearing Australian flags.
The generous Russians then presented their own pins to the Russian community, and a signed team T-shirt to the mayor.
