Tiger gets kids roaring

Melbourne Tigers star Stephen Hoare, with Lachlan and David, dropped into Dandenong Basketball Stadium last Thursday to shoot hoops with young basketballers from the area. The 201cm forward was on hand to give tips to aspiring basketballers as part of the Stud Road Complex’s school holiday program. Youngsters flocked to the stadium for the chance to participate in training drills with the basketball star. Hoare, who wears number 33 for the Tigers, also signed merchandise and posed for photos with the basketball mad crowd. The 31-year-old was recruited by the Tigers in 2001 and will be back on court in September when Melbourne travels to Singapore for its first game of the National Basketball League 2007-08 season.Melbourne Tigers star Stephen Hoare, with Lachlan and David, dropped into Dandenong Basketball Stadium last Thursday to shoot hoops with young basketballers from the area.
