A WORLD class Dandenong hotel says a new cinema complex will ease complaints about a lack of night time entertainment in the city’s centre.
The Ramada Encore Hotel in McCrae Street this week revealed it was excited about the Wednesday 27 August opening of Reading Cinemas at the over-the-road Dandenong Plaza.
Ramada Encore Dandenong sales manager Nicole Ellen said the cinemas would add value to the area as there was a need for a cinema after Village closed its complex late last year.
“As the sales manager of the Ramada Encore and an advocate for the area, I will let my guests know the cinemas are just across the road,” she said.
“When the previous cinemas closed, I didn’t notice a huge impact to our clientele coming in although we do often get complaints there’s not much to do and that there’s a need for more night time entertainment.
“The opening of Reading should help with this as they will be open till late.”
Ms Ellen said she would now like to see more night time entertainment in the city centre.
“I would like to see more cafes and restaurants also surrounding the hotel as this is will help with occupancy and create choice for the travellers,” she said.
“The more people that come to town the better it is for all, after all we do claim to be the city of opportunity.”
Reading Cinemas will launch in Dandenong on Wednesday 27 August with a special pre-release premiere of The Mummy:Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
It will be open to the public from Thursday 28 August.
