POLICE found a sawn-off shotgun and assortment of drugs after searching a car in Springvale on Monday morning. Police noticed suspicious activity in a public car park near Warwick Avenue around 1am.
They searched a car and found small quantities of heroin, ecstasy, methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia.
Police also seized a sawn-off double barrel shotgun and rounds along with a .32 calibre pistol round.
Police arrested three men, a 39-year-old from Yarraville, a 33-year-old from St Albans and a 47-year-old from Preston who are currently being interviewed in relation to the possession of drugs and a prohibited weapon.
Springvale Sergeant Mick Hughes said the streets were safer now police had found the sawn-off shotgun.
No charges have yet been laid.
