Shane Doig (2/59) restricted the middle order damage and Mark Butters (2/82) took care of some of the danger men early on, leaving it to their batsmen to pick up where they left off.

It wasn’t their choice to start the batting and it showed, with one of Hallam-Kalora Park’s openers caught out for a duck. Steve Chapman (78), Nicholas Hawking (52 not out) and fellow opener Michael Torcasio (50) fared better, but Coomoora had Hallam ducking with middle order anchorman Nicholas Cox falling cheaply.

@BT Sub Sport News:Keysborough v Springvale South

It first placed Springvale South up against last placed Keysborough… and there were no surprises.
Keysborough was sent in to bat after losing the toss and it wasn’t long before they completely lost their nerve. Three ducks and 9 single figure scores later Keyborough’s innings was all over for just 47 runs.
Springvale’s opening batsmen had no mercy on Keysborough’s bowling line-up as they came out swinging, making 206 from 37 overs and declaring, with eight wickets in hand.
Jason Quirk (59 not out) helped himself to his second half-century, Lance Mac Dougall (56) made his presence felt on debut in Turf One and Rory Ingram (49) came up just short of his half-century, while the skipper Craig Slocombe (37 not out) put in his bit before leaving it up to Keysborough to try and rally for their second innings next weekend.

@BT Sub Sport News:Buckley Ridges v North Dandenong

Buckley Ridges won the toss and sent North Dandenong to the Oval Park crease, but they weren’t intimidated by the second placed Buckley Ridges bowling line-up, with the middle order confidently picking up the early slack with some big scoring.
The final total of 259 was a team effort with Scott Neeson (62), skipper Adrian Baltruschaitis (59), David Bell (33) and Carman Mapatuna (25) the leading run-getters.
Buckley Ridges’ Paul Rudd (3/14), Anthony Clarke-Bruce (3/51) and William Buttler (2/47) who took his first wicket of the season this round, were the standouts with the ball.

@BT Sub Sport News:Narre Warren v St Mary’s

Top five-placed Narre Warren had it all their way for their home game at Wilson Oval, winning the toss and electing to bat. There were no ducks in the Narre Warren huddle this week and the runs were flowing early with skipper-opening batsman Troy Cashman leading from the front.
234 runs was the final total with Luke Byron (72), Troy Cashman (61) and Paul Sharp (38 not out) combining to make the majority of the team’s runs.
St Mary’s bowlers Dwayne Scott (3/67), Shane Simpson (2/24) Ryan Christie (2/28) did well to limit Narre Warren’s run rate and hold them at an achievable score.
