CHRISTMAS is a time for giving – that’s the word from Wesley Mission Melbourne, which is hoping to help needy families over the festive season.
Over Christmas, many people donate non-perishable food and toiletries to Wesley Mission. They are then distributed by the mission’s homelessness and support services throughout the following year.
Public relations and publications officer Peta Farquhar said Wesley Mission Melbourne was excited this year to receive a “very generous” donation from Dandenong business Star Maid International.
“Star Maid donated a number of plastic storage boxes,” Ms Farquhar said. “This has increased our capacity to store the donated food, meaning we will be able to assist even more people throughout the year.”
Another way people can get involved is by buying a gift/donation through the Wesley Giftshare program.
