Insights into VCE

By Melissa Meehan
THE final year of VCE is both an exciting and anxious time for many students.
Over the course of this year, two students, Brendan Rogers and Andrew Toigo, will give Star readers an insight into their attempt to balance teenage life and VCE.
Both students have attended St John’s Regional College since Year 7 and have been friends since Prep.
“We are both looking forward to getting through the year together,” Brendan said.
Focused on careers in engineering, Andrew is hoping to specialise in mechanical or electrical areas while Brendan’s interest is more general.
Obviously, the duo hope to achieve high ENTER scores at the end of the year.
Because of their similar goals, both students are study-ing the same subjects this year, except for one.
While Brendan chose ‘media studies’, Andrew decided to try ‘information technology’.
“We are pretty much in all of the same classes except ‘media studies’,” Brendan said.
“It’ll be good because we will be going through the same things.”
Stay in tune over the following months to read how the two cope with their studies, balance their part-time jobs and still enjoy their social lives.
