THE Sauzal Folkloric Dance Group’s Chilean dancers will be showcasing their talent at this year’s Moomba Waterfest parade on 9 March.
Seventeen dancers, who train in Dandenong, aged from 12 to 45 will join other performers and dance their way along the Yarra River on Labour Day morning. The dancers have been involved in the parade for three years, which is part performance, part procession and part street party.
“It’s a great feeling to be part of the festival, everyone looks forward to it every year,” said public officer and dancer Yelissa Gomez.
“It is very exciting, and we get to meet so many other people from other groups.” The group is directed by Nilso Gomez, and dances are choreographed by his son, also named Nilso.
