Harleys’ home

This year’s Retail Award winner, Peter Stevens Motorcycles has been distributing top motorcycle brands throughout Australia.
The company distributes Harley-Davidson, Triumph and Vespa brands and is the first organisation to establish a Harley Owners Group division outside of North America.
In the last four years, the company has tripled its Harley Davidson sales.
The company, founded by three brothers 36 years ago, has been located in Dandenong since 1978. Since then, Peter Stevens Motorcycles has grown to include five stores in Victoria and two in Adelaide. There are approximately 250 employees across all stores. The Dandenong business has grown from having four employees to 37 employees.
Peter Stevens Motorcycles is looking to move its assembly plant to Dandenong, creating a possible 40 more jobs.
Branch Manager Jason McKenzie said the growing business was successful because of its longevity as well as the passionate and knowledgeable staff.
“We have a large experienced staff. Some people have been here for four or five years, some 10 years, and others have been here for 28 years,” he said. “Every single one of them is extremely passionate about what they do.”
The business regularly employs and trains apprentices in the spare parts and service areas of the business. As well as this they facilitate world recognised training and diplomas for all staff in sales and service from Harley-Davidson Corporation.
