IT SEEMS the anti-hoon message just isn’t getting through in Greater Dandenong.
Following a hard hitting campaign, cars are continuing to be impounded by police under anti-hoon legislation.
Dandenong Traffic Management Unit’s (TMU) Acting Sergeant Andrew Jones said it was disappointing the message wasn’t getting through.
“On Saturday 14 March we impounded two vehicles hooning in a Dandenong industrial area,” he said.
“And on the weekend just past we intercepted two vehicles that were drag racing on the Dandenong Bypass.”
He said the hoon behaviour was a problem in Greater Dandenong and that police would continue to target such behaviour.
Drivers who have their cars impounded face fines, as well as a number of charges including improper use of a vehicle.
Hoons won’t hear or heed
