NOBLE Park will celebrate its centenary in October.
Celebrations will include a parade down the main street and an exhibit showing the history of the suburb.
The Noble Park Centenary Committee is working hard to put the pieces of the puzzle together but need the help of current and past residents.
Committee member Jim Laidlaw is one of many collecting photos at the public hall in Buckley Street, the hub of activity for the place known as Struggle Town.
“We are trying to get Noble Park’s history together,” Mr Laidlaw said. “Any old photos or documents reflecting any period of the town would be much appreciated.”
He met with former resident Geoff Wachter last week who is currently compiling a book on the history of the town.
“It has been really good to work with people who have seen the changes over the years,” Mr Laidlaw said. “But we are really after pieces of information about sporting clubs, schools and churches.”
Anyone who can help the committee with providing photos or other documents is asked to contact Mr Laidlaw on 0411 530 765.
