Dingoes have an easy time

By Paul Pickering
DINGLEY punished an inaccurate East Brighton to win their Division One clash by 47 points at Souter Oval on Saturday.
The Dingoes had three less scoring shots for the afternoon, but cruised to an easy victory on the back of a seven-goal haul from emerging forward Tim Ford.
Ford, Steve Vinen (three goals) and Andrew Frost (one) provided plenty of headaches for the Vampires defence, and plenty of crumbing opportunities for the likes of the Lavars brothers. Bret Lavars kicked three and Troy was best-on-ground.
The Dingoes set the game up with an eight-goal-to-one second term, and continued their accurate kicking to win 19.8 to 9.21. Over at Newcomen Road, Springvale Districts squandered a one-goal half-time lead to go down by 46 points against Mordialloc.
The Demons’ inability to kick a winning total was again highlighted by a return of just 8.8 for the match, with Kris Thomspson and Trevor Kumetaitis kicking two apiece. The Bloods were dangerous by comparison, with Aaron Martello (four) and David Mapstone (four) equalling the home side’s tally for the afternoon.
Thompson, Luke Swan and Adam ‘Flea’ Nichols were the Demons’ most consistent contributors around the ground.
In Division Two, Lyndale suffered a 10-goal defeat to Black Rock on the road, despite a spirited showing in the second half at Donald McDonald Reserve.
Rockers spearhead Luke Kirkland (10) was unstoppable in a first-half onslaught as the home side surged to a 53-point lead, but the Pumas would have taken some encouragement from an improved performance after the interval.
Lyndale livewire Adrian McCracken finished with five goals, while Tom Clappers and Anthony Lowry also won their positions.
Meanwhile, the Doveton Eagles made light work of their Division Three derby with Sandown, kicking 18 goals to six after quarter-time to win by 86 points at Power Reserve.
Eagles goal-machine Ricky Ramsdale returned to top form with an eight-goal haul, but it was Steve Ognjenovic who claimed best afield honours.
Clint Sheedy booted four for the Cobras, while Andrew Millar and Simon Foster found plenty of the footy.
Elsewhere, Hampton led Dandenong at every change en route to a 94-point win at home.
