THANK god she’s here…
It seemed to be a case of the right place at the right time for local actress Rachel Jessica Tan.
In between stints in Los Angeles, the Dandenong North actress will appear as a guest member of the ensemble cast of the fourth and current series of Thank God You’re Here.
Ms Tan grew up in Dandenong North and completed her VCE at Wellington Secondary College.
Her resume includes Australian film Hating Alison Ashley, Blue Heelers, Scooter Secret Agent, and most recently Neighbours.
Although this is not her first television appearance, she said it was an incredibly exciting experience to work on the show.
“It is such a unique format, there’s nothing else like it on television,” Ms Tan said. “The guest performers have no idea what’s going to happen, the ensemble actors similarly have to have extremely good improvisation skills to work with the spontaneity of the scene, and they’re all amazing talents. I respect them greatly.”
Recently returning from Los Angeles, Ms Tan said her new role came in good time.
“They’ve only done 10 episodes in this series, so it was perfect timing because I plan to head back to LA soon,” she said.
Ms Tan can be seen on Channel Seven at 7.30pm Wednesdays.
