AMES Noble Park will explore this year’s Refugee Week theme, “Freedom from Fear”, in a forum to be held today (Thursday) at 10.30am.
The group’s settlement operations manager, Peter Jarrett, will discuss the global refugee situation and then focus on refugee resettlement in Noble Park and Victoria.
Community leaders, teachers and AMES students will have the opportunity to share the experience and contribute on the day with photo displays of refugee camps and by presenting a selection of stories from Making Connections, a project funded by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship under the Diverse Australia Program.
A light lunch will be provided from 12.30 to 1.30pm.
Refugee Week runs until Saturday 20 June, which is World Refugee Day.
