THE City of Greater Dandenong has finished the financial year strong.
Corporate Services director Mick Jaensch reported that the council had achieved a $19 million accounting surplus meaning that with $8 million of things to do by the end of the year the council would have a $11 million cash surplus. “It is a very complex business. We have a fairly good result, showing that we are in a sustainable position. Overall it has been a good year for us.”
Councillors adopted the financial reportfor the 2009 financial year at Monday night’s meeting and supported the long term financial strategy for the council.
