Indecent exposure near public school

By Melissa Meehan
INDECENT exposure in Greater Dandenong has police concerned.
The worrying news comes after a new report of a man pulling down his pants and touching himself outside a Noble Park primary school last week.
The Star reported the alarming number of reports of indecent exposure earlier this year (27 August).
Detective Senior Constable Stuart Freeman said there had been more than seven reports since the start of August, but was worried that many more were going on without being reported.
He said the latest incident occurred about 11am last Thursday outside Yarraman Park Primary School in Leige Street, Noble Park.
“A man called out to a group of students, mostly girls, and pulled his penis out of his pants,” Det Freeman said.
“They then told their teacher and he was seen to go back to his car and police were called immediately.”
Det Freeman said it was important to note that the man was not on the school grounds and did not physically engage with the students.
He said the man was driving a white Toyota utility and was described as 50-years-old wearing a red jumper, blue jeans and a dark coloured hat.
Police cannot rule out that Thursday’s incident is not linked to the ones previously.
“We can’t rule it in or out,” Det Freeman said.
“But there are similarities.”
He said residents should not approach anyone acting suspiciously, but should call police.
“It is a high priority,” he said.
“We will send someone out.”
A spokesperson for Yarraman Park Primary School confirmed the incident but declined to comment.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
