Hot-footing it for CFA

GREATER Dandenong residents should dust off their dancing shoes and get ready to boogie at the return of the Mayoral Charity Dinner this year.
Mayor Jim Memeti announced the event this week and said it promised to be an enjoyable evening for a good cause – CFA’s Southern Metropolitan Region.
“I have a soft spot for the CFA, I think the work they do is remarkable. They are the ones going into burning buildings while everyone else is running out,” he said.
“They are a vital community organisation, consisting of dedicated staff and volunteer firefighters, who rely in part on fundraising to improve their facilities and update their equipment.”
The event will feature a charity auction, raffles, lucky door prizes and live music by The Baker Boys.
The six-piece cover band will be performing a huge repertoire of songs to keep everyone dancing.
“I have two left feet, but I am sure I will give it (dancing) a go,” Cr Memeti said.
The dinner ison Saturday 23 October at Springvale Town Hall.
Tickets cost $70 and can be bought individually or as a table.
They include a four-course meal, drinks and live entertainment.
