THE Noble Park fullback who lined up against Brendan Fevola in Saturday’s clash against Narre Warren said it felt good to get one-up on the person who nearly flushed his head down a toilet years ago.
Tim Davison restricted the disgraced AFL star to two goals and had the upper hand over the man who 10 years ago held Davison’s head above a toilet seat, threatening to flush it down the drain.
“We played juniors together at Narre Warren,” Davison said. “He was a bit older than me and was a bit of a maniac.”
“He held my head over a toilet seat while flushing it and said he was going to put me down it… I probably deserved it though, I was a bit of a s…head myself.”
But there was no doubting who finished on top on Saturday as Noble Park held on to beat Narre Warren by 20 points in front of a packed crowd at Fox Road.
“Keeping the Coleman medallist to two goals, I was happy with that,” Davison said.
Davison was among the Bulls’ best players, but it wasn’t until a radio announcement two days before the game did the fullback realise he would be lining up against one of the best full-forwards in the country.
“I heard it on the radio on Thursday morning that I’d be playing against the big fella and all that day I kept getting text messages reminding me of it,” Davison said.
“It was a practice match, so I didn’t prepare as much as I would (for a regular season game) but I was pretty excited about it.”
Davison, who relished the chance to play on the well-known figure, did not shy away from the many physical encounters that he and Fevola instigated.
“I am a full back, so of course I enjoy a scuffle,” Davison said.
But despite the argy-bargy the pair was able to patch up their differences later that night when they accidentally ran into each other in a city nightclub.
