RESIDENTS in the City of Greater Dandenong can have a greener future thanks to an environmentally-friendly program run by Missions Australia.
Funded by the Victorian Government, the Greener Futures Program provides opportunities for householders in the Greater Dandenong area to have free products installed in their homes that will help to save money on water, electricity and heating.
Greener Futures is available to families who rent or own their own home and have a Centrelink Health Card, Low Income Card or Pension Concession Card.
The program facilitates the retrofitting of free-products such as water-saving shower heads, energy saving light bulbs and drought-reducing products to keep homes warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
The Greener Futures program also provides a number of other services including sealing cracks in the main heated room, the installation of drought-reducing products, replacing light bulbs with energy saving bulbs and the installation of new water-saving shower heads.
