THE 14th ranked man and the 27th ranked woman in Australia were the singles winners at the Waverley Tennis Gold Australian Money Tournament, held at Doveton over the Queen’s Birthday weekend.
Nick Lindahl and Viktorija Rajicic each took home $1500 from the tournament’s $7500 prize pool.
Manager Lyn Gillen gave the tournament the “thumbs up”, starting with the weather.
“And we were delighted with the 106 entries in the men’s, 62 in the women’s, 29 pairs in the men’s open doubles and 15 pairs in the women’s open doubles,” Gillen said.
“The 16 seeded players in the men’s open singles were in the top 200 in Australia.
“Our next Australian Money Tournament is a platinum level. It’s worth $10,000 and will be held over the Melbourne Cup weekend.”
