Animal cruelty probe

POLICE are investigating a horror case after a Noble Park man discovered severed dog’s testicles and scrotum in his letter box.
The man in his 30s found the items, in two plastic bags, in his Maxine Court letter box and took the gruesome find to the Dandenong police station.
It is believed the package was delivered some time between 17 and 20 June.
The package was inspected by a veterinarian who told police the body parts were removed “crudely”.
“The items were looked at by a vet who said the dog would have suffered pain,” Sergeant Kirk Pennuto of Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit said.
“The animal would have required treatment.”
The body parts are believed to have been removed from a “larger dog” and it is unknown if it was alive or dead at the time.
Police are looking for anyone with information about the incident or knowledge of a dog that may have suffered similar injuries.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Senior Constable Marisa Owens at Dandenong CIU on 9767 7487 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
