DANDENONG Market will display local produce throughout December.
The exhibition We Made It! In Greater Dandenong will showcase the city’s food products and celebrate local food manufacturers.
Greater Dandenong Mayor Angela Long said she hoped the exhibition would raise awareness of the diversity of food products which are manufactured locally.
“Almost 200 food manufacturers representing 10 per cent of the Greater Dandenong manufacturing sector provide 2400 direct jobs and contribute almost $1.1 billion to the local economy each year,” she said.
“Sometimes you need to give people the information that will help them choose one product over another – this exhibition will tell people what is made locally, and locally-made is a great selling point.”
Dandenong Market is open every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, and will open for a special Christmas Eve market on Monday 24 December.
