Library family fun

Playing with Lego, chess, puzzles and games together can improve literacy, numeracy, spatial awareness, socially appropriate behaviour and fair play.
A parent or carer must accompany children to this free activity. Sessions are not held during school or public holidays.

Chinese Mandolin Music Group

Learn to play a mandolin for a $2 donation.

Learn to lion dance

The lion dance is a traditional Chinese dance performed on big occasions, like Chinese New Year, for good luck.

  • Springvale Neighbourhood House, 46-50 Queens Avenue, Springvale. Sundays, 1pm to 3pm. $2 per session. No bookings required. Call 9548 3972 for more information.


Greater Dandenong Environment Group

This community group formed in 1990 to increase local awareness about environmental issues, and meets for water and bird watching.

  • Dandenong Wetlands, Stud Road, Dandenong North. First Sunday of each month, 9.30am. Call 8571 1702 for more information or to become a member.


Seniors meet

Hallam Senior Citizens Centre hosts carpet bowls, bingo, games, club room events and day tours.
New members are welcome.

Walker Street Gallery

The Gatherers features works from artists Susan Hall and Meg Viney, who collect materials from the environment to create art about the natural world’s fragility.
Amanda Fewell hand embroidered and appliqued flags to reflect themes relating to Australian identity and Australian values for exhibition The Eureka Project.
