$1m ice seized in random intercept

A 26-year-old Noble Park man has been arrested after police allegedly seized more than $1 million of ice during a random intercept.

Police allegedly approached the man getting on a BMW motorbike in Ashwood about 3am on 22 August.

He allegedly fled on foot, throwing a backpack into a residential front yard.

After a search involving Oakleigh and Boroondara police officers, the man was found and arrested.

More than 5 kilograms of the drug ‘ice’ and more than $3000 was allegedly seized from the backpack.

A records check found that the motorcycle was allegedly stolen.
