SPRINGVALE Benevolent Society will unveil a plaque to honour the late John Beus.
Mr Beus was founding member of the society in 1962 and passed away last year.
He was a compassionate gentleman and worked tirelessly for the community right up until his death.
He received a Medal of the Order of Australia, was named a City of Greater Dandenong Living Treasure, was a Greater Dandenong Senior Citizen of the Year, and was awarded the City of Springvale Award, the Paul Harris Fellowship from the Rotary Club of Noble Park and the Wes Eggleston Community Service Award.
Springvale Benevolent Society will dedicate a plaque to Mr Beus at Springvale and District Historical Society, 7 Hillcrest Grove, Springvale, at 2pm on Sunday 28 April.
