IT WAS a big weekend for Springvale and its surrounds, with poffertjes and fireworks taking centre stage.
Burden Park in Springvale South hosted the three-day Noble Park-Keysborough Lions Club summer festival from Friday to Sunday.
The event raised money for the club to help the region’s needy and for Athol Road Primary School.
There was live music, cultural performances, a talent quest, multicultural food stalls, community displays, rides and a fireworks display on the Saturday night.
Sandown Racecourse became home to all things Dutch on Saturday.
The 40th annual Holland Festival featured traditional foods – from poffertjes to oliebollen, kroketten and stroopwafels – games, traditional costumes, dancing and more.
Sweet weekend is a blast
